Jianqing Jia

Postdoctoral Researcher
Applied Math & Data Science
I am a Postdoc at the School of Data Science and Society, UNC-Chapel Hill, where I work with Prof. Yifei Lou.

I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Syracuse University, advised by Prof. Lixin Shen. Prior to that, I obtained my M.S. in Computational Mathematics through the joint program held by the Math Dept. at Hebei Normal University and the CS Dept. at Temple University, advised by Prof. Wei Guo and Prof. Haibin Ling.

My research mainly focus on the field of optimization and machine learning, particularly convex and nonconvex optimization, signal and image processing, scientific computing, augmented reality. I am especially interested in leveraging inherent low-dimensional structure in data for recovery, computation, and communication.
